Our working method
Our personal approach is our strength. We always seek to maintain short lines of communication between our client, our management and our project leader. That’s how we safeguard our no-nonsense mentality. A deal is a deal.
We possess far-reaching knowledge and expertise. We build all types of ships, including those that operate in niche markets, such as estuary ships, bitumen tankers, LPG tankers, LNG tankers, and river cruise ships. These specialty ships require an innovative approach. That’s why we spend a lot of time on design studies, engineering, and shipbuilding.
We often deliver turnkey ships. Yet it is also possible to order only the outfitting part. If you decide to have your ship built at TeamCo Shipyard, we’ll first launch a series of engineering and inspection processes. Next, your casco will be built at a hull yard in Eastern Europe. After which it is transported to our yard in Heusden, the Netherlands, for further construction/outfitting and trails.
Our key values have always been sustainability and safety. We invest an increasingly amount of time in the development of sustainable ships. And discover options for alternative fuels, such as LNG, hybrid and electrical propulsion. TeamCo Shipyard delivered her first LNG driven tanker in 2019.
We also prioritize obtaining quality marks and certificates. And work closely together with the National Authorities and IACS members. TeamCo Shipyard has been ISO 9001 certified since 2015.
Our yard
TeamCo Shipyard is located in Heusden, the Netherlands, on the banks of the Meuse river. The yard was completely renovated and modernized in 2017. During the renovation, special attention was paid to the working conditions and ergonomics of our employees. As they determine the quality of our work – your ship.
The yard spans an extensive 20.000 square meters, including:
Nice to know: the highway, with direct connections to Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Duisburg, is only a five-minute drive from the yard.
Gerrie van Tiem and Marcel Zweers first visited the abandoned De Hoop Shipyard back in November 2004. A few months later, they established TeamCo Shipyard. Together they brought with them more than forty years of shipbuilding experience and a high dose of ambition and vision.
Gerrie and Marcel’s reputation makes for a head start. Customer and partner loyalty ensure a quick growth. In the years that follow, TeamCo Shipyard develops itself into one of Europe’s biggest and most distinctive shipyards for inland navigation and small seagoing vessels. Nowadays, niche market expertise has resulted in an excellent reputation far beyond Europe’s borders.
